Went bankrupt today , what happens now?

My OH was declared bankrupt today. It was all very straight forward, they waived the £150 fee even though he wasn't exempt, the clerk told him he wouldn't be allowed Sky or my catalogue (even though he pays it) on the SOA.He now has to wait for the OR to contact him.
Now he is bankrupt will he have to account for any money that he spends? Will the OR want details/receipts etc.

Should your OH be left with any surplus income after allowed expenses and any repayments to creditors under an IPA, he is free to spend that surplus on what he pleases. If that is SKY etc then there is no problem with this, but it must be funded out of any spare income left.
The OR requires an updated I&E if your income or expenses change significantly, but they do not normally monitor accounts or ask for receipts. A very large amount is taken on trust, and they simply do not have the resources and staff to check up in that much detail on everyone.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Out of interest how did you get them to waive the fee? I am struggling to get the money together but if they waived the fee I could probably go BR sooner than anticipated...0

It was done at their descretion. It took us a while to get the fees together but I wouldn't go to the court without having the whole amount.0 -
Yeah, i just assumed that you had to pay the full fees unless you are in receipt of benefits etc but just told them that i'm planning to go back into education and even my temporary job only provides me with a surplus of under £100 once most of my essential costs are covered, quite scary really when you make the effort to calculate the raw figures, no wonderi went BR:rolleyes:0

on his forms he's already stated his income and outgoings. don't pay any of your creditors give them your bankrupcy number (and smile to yourself) wait for the official receiver to ring you or even ring them to speak to your case worker and they'll tell you what you have to pay back. the ladies in croydon are absolutly fantastic and all my money i earn is mine - i've never been as well off!0

do you mind if i ask who dealt with your case in OR Croydon? You are obviously pleased with the service, did you let them know that?
