Halifax decision in principle

Hi guys,

What is the actual credit check on the DIP?

Does Halifax just check a credit score and that's it. Do they not do a full credit check of your loans, credit cards etc? It's a soft search according to their site.

Does that basically mean they don't actually do any credit checks at this stage other than getting a credit score?

I have read the DIP is worthless as it's based on only the info you give them.

Cheers!

They credit check the applicant(s) at the last 3 years addresses. Potentially any credit file issues at addresses after the last 3 years will not be caught at this stage and will be caught at full application when a hard search is performed.
