Seller conveyancing own sale?

Hi,

We are first time buyers and have just received our memorandum of sale and I notice that our seller is conveyancing the sale herself.

Is this common?

Could it have an effect on how quickly everything goes through compared to her using a solicitor or does it not matter as long as she send all relevant documents etc when asked?

Thanks!

Sorry, realise this should probably be in house buying forum, not sure how to delete it from here!
