My grandmother once left her purse in my house. There was a few hundred quid in it so obviously I spent it.
Then she had the cheek to come back moaning, "oh, I didn't mean to leave it, oh it was an accident, oh I can't afford to eat."
If she didn't want me to have it, she shouldn't go round making mistakes, should she.
:rotfl: I'm not sure if you're joking or not. :rotfl:(•_•)

Fortunately, it was a pretty cold winter that year. How was I supposed to know she hadn't kept enough back for her heating bill?

This is a non issue, did it really need to be asked in a thread ?
No is the answer, call them and tell them of the error, simple as.0 -

First the bank will hound you for the money, then when you ignore them that pass it onto the debt collectors who will really hound you.
But they will only hound you night and day for upto 6 years.
If they dont take you to court between now and 6 years you get to keep it.
Although your going to need it because nobody else will give you credit.
You dont need to sign paperwork to have an agreement or contract.
I have phones on a contract and never signed anything.
are you sure about that? what about the signature for delivery, signing the delivery is accepting the delivery and contract.0 -

i have now sought advice from a legal expert who has suggested putting it into a savings account to accrue interest until Halifax realise their mistake. If they request it back then I will return it but will have made some money in the process through the interest gained. They cannot hold me to the loan repayments only take the money back!
its not enough to hope they realise their mistake, you have to make them aware of it.
I suggest you get a different legal expert, because Dave down the pub clearly lied about being qualified.0 -

Very sure, Other family members and a neighbour have signed so are they now liable for my phone bills?
Also how can signing for an unknown package be acceptance for a contract?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Hahaha, good one OP
Remember people, for every bad business there are thousands of shady, dishonest chancers like the OP.

I reckon there's a 100% chance that they WILL realise their mistake!
The OP is hoping the loan company will forget they gave him the money!
