Johnsons Klear

Have any of you used this???? I found a bottle in the cupboard of the new studio apartment my friend took over last week, I think it has been used on the floor which seems a bit sticky, the label on the back is not very distinct, so I cannot see what we can do to remove it, and start again, it does make the floor look nice, but I need to see if we can get off whats on the floor thats making it sticky.
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Tesco £57.13
Petrol £10.00

  • Hi csarinaknight

I use this on my kitchen lino - every few weeks or so. It brings the old flooring back to life. Sometimes it does finish a bit sticky - I think it's when I haven't the floor prepared properly.

Generally, I would apply it after giving the floor a really good hot wash, followed by a rinse with cold water and the mop. Then after the floor is dry I apply the Klear with a damp mop. I generally do it late in the evening when the kitchen traffic has subsided. I start at the far corner and finish at the door when I can step out with walking on it and leave it to dry overnight.

I've heard people suggest that it might remove the natural finish off the top of the lino - this might be true, or it might just be that after having such a shine on the floor, the original finish appears a little lacklustre.

My lino is old and a little tired - but it was expensive and I can't justify replacing it yet. I won't be using the Klear on a new floor.

To remove the klear, hot,hot water and a mop, along with a strong cleaner - stardrops would probably do - I use anything that's handy.
