in Cutting tax
Hi,
i need a little advise if someone has 5 mins to reply.
I left my job end of fwb this year ( started oct 14) my wage was 24k.
I was out of work til june 1st and provided p60 form when i started.
ive since been paid twice and not been taxed except NI.
I cant understand why and worried i will get over taxed to back date.
Will i be expecting not to be taxes again?
Thabk you for your time

Just to add new job wage is less at 22k at moment for first 6 m and rises to 24k if that matters0

What income did you receive between April 6th this year and starting work ? You can earn £883 per month before paying tax so up until the end of July you have a tax free allowance of £3536.36 - have you earned that much this year yet. Your pay slip should show the tax code used.0

your P60 has no relevance to your current emplyment
did you claim JSA dutin April and May
other in June you would be able to earn
10600 x3/12 = 2446 before tax was due
in July your combined June and July income would have to be more than 10600 x 4/12 = 3,533 before tax was due
if your annual rate is 22,000 then in June you would have earned
22,000/12 = 1,833 so no tax was due
By July your salary for the two months would be about 3,666 so a little tax may have been due but subject to full details (what exactly did you earn in June and July; was there any pension payment made etc)0 -
I suspect the OP means P45 rather than P60 although with so little to go on it's hard to say whether that would have had any effect on their current employment or not.0

One question to ask specifically was whether the OP was claiming JSA between jobs. If they were, then eventually a P45 will be provided, which should be given to the new employer, because JSA is taxable but always paid gross.Signature removed for peace of mind0
