Recommend a washing machine

The irony in looking for a new washing machine my head is spinning faster than 1500rpm!
I haven't a great budget:£200 (ish)
Have no brand loyalty
7kg drum
A++ rating at least
I know most are white but I really don mind any other.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated as I seem to have overdosed on washing machine and cannot see clearly!

Thank you foe any input.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

Slightly over at £209, seems to be just over the £200 when you go up to 7kg drums

I like washing machines with a trainer/sports shoe setting as mine are always in the wash ! .

  • I bought a Bosch Exxcel WAQ28461GB in January, my first washing machine. It had the fifth-best washing machine score in Which? Magazine and at under £400 was much cheaper than machines with similar rankings. Bosch washing machines fairly consistently perform well and last a long time.

Alternatively I think the jlwm1413-slim-depth from John Lewis scored similarly highly and is also cheap.

You can get a top-notch machine with little money and you can get a poor machine for a lot of money. High-tech features do not always lead to increased performance and identical-looking machines can perform very differently. Your best bet is to go by professional reviews by Which? or possibly Consumer Report (the American alternative to Which? that you can subscribe to cheaply for online-only access).

I too am looking for a new washing machine and am interested in cycle times.

My current washing machine takes near 3 hours for a 40 degree cotton cycle - which is crazy to me.

If you have bought a washing machine recently can you let me know the brand, model and cycle times

I have looked online and most only give the quick wash time!

You don't mention cost so I'll say I've got a Miele WKR 570 WPS (£1600) which can do an A rated wash in about 55 minutes.

Also I think I'm correct in saying that every Miele machine thats been tested by Which? is rated as a BEST BUY.

Thanks - altought budget isn't a main consideration - i just want something reliable with good cycle times, i consider this to be out of my range.
Max budget is about £500, but preferably a lot les

Although its still not within your budget but the cheapest machine with this feature is £1100. Its possible to get one for £1000 add to that Miele regularly do a manufacturer £100 cashback offer so £900. Factor in the warranty top class features etc and.....

Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose!
