Yes, but its Philips, say no more!Ps are u shore its HD?
Philips do some very good screens, actually...they're one of the best for watching both SD and HD in which is more than can be said for some of the other big brands...
i'm not even sure "Resolution WXGA 1024 x 768" is a true HD resolution...it's certainly not a widescreen resolution so i'd stay clear...computerwoman wrote: »so ok guys what's wrong with this one....
also, these guys are good for deals and generally cheap LCD/Plasma screens; http://www.flattelly.co.uk/0 -
Get yourself over to the avforums - all you could ever want to know and more about plasma's!

It depends what you want from your tv.
Many budget end flat panel tv's have poor performance (as do some branded ones!) and that is why the avforum folk tend to talk about brands more - because they want a quality set.
Basically at the moemnt you pretty much get what you pay for with flat panel sets. Unlike CRT tv's they are not all the same.
If you are happy to get a budget set and watch say 'Eastenders' on it then great, but if you want to watch footy on the same set you may find you get ghosting or other such issues due to the fast movement etc.
As a poster on avforums i would not say i am a brand snob - but i do want value for money (MSE stylee:money: ). If i buy a budget £500 set and the picture is rubbish for some things i want to watch then i would not get value for money. If i spend another £200 for a branded version of a simlar set and i get a good picture all the time then i do get value for money.
As previously stated with developing technologies brands are often a safer bet despite higher prices. However when technologies stabilize (like CRT tv's) then budget choices offer good value.

can't get freeview in my area so that's fine...thanks:DAt face value, nothing, apart from an unkown brand and no Freeview built in, otherwise it looks OK for the money.;)

Well you may well not be a " Brand Snob " but my experience is, they ( the regular posters ) are only interested in Pioneers. Panasonics and Samsungs on there, any other brand is ignored.
Fine if you are interested in spending around £1000 to £1500 or so on a TV, I am not.;)
The LCD thread doesn't seem to share the same exlusivity .. :rolleyes:0 -

it's not just that, i seriously think the picture quality won't be too hot as the resolution they state isn't true widescreen HD...0
