Since I have sensitive mild rosacea skin. I need the Sensitive version which only comes in the £145 one so, never bought.
I still my Clarisonic with the delicate brush head.0 -
I use a Magnitone lucid. Much cheaper at £50 and works really well. I use it with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish.0

I also use Magnitone and very happy with it.ally.0

I use a Clarisonic with a sensitive brush head as though I don't have full blown rosacea, my cheeks are prone to redness.
I use with various facewashes, current preference is for one of Ren's gel based ones - either the Evercalm or the Rosa Centafloria.
It's hard to say if it's really improved my skin as it wasn't that bad beforehand, but I think the pores on my nose and chin are a bit less prone to blackheads now and the skin feels a bit smoother.
I was reading an article I saw on facebook today (possibly from Stylist magazine) that was saying these sorts of devices were proved to get your skin cleaner than just washing and given I live in London with all it's lovely pollution that seems like a good thing.
I only use in the mornings, I think twice a day might be a bit much.0 -
I had one but my skin didn't agree with it at all I really didn't like it so sold it and bought a claisonic and have never looked back I love it and luckily so does my skin but I agree I use it once a day.
I use mine at night as part of second cleanse to get the days grime of my skin before night cream for bed.0 -
I think the efficacy of electric cleaning devices depends on one's skin. If your skin OP, is dry and sensitive, I'd steer well clear of anything like a forea luni and definitely use a very gentle cleanser on your skin.
I'm of the opinion that no one needs to buy these electric cleaners if you cleanse twice a day using a decent cleanser and a flannel but each to their own.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -
I have the Luni and managed to get it at a discount for a trial I was offered a few years back.
It's OK. I wouldn't pay the current rrp for it, I initially only noticed bad things with my skin when I used it (I got spots). Spots are my skins way of communicating with me it's dislike of a product or new thing; use a new face cream?= get spots. Find a new man-friend who likes to touch my face?= get spots. New beauty tool? = get spots. My skin is fickle and set in it's ways, it doesn't like change, so as much as I can say the luni resulted in me getting spots, just about every other new skin affecting change results in me getting spots.
I did also though initially notice my skin feeling more sensitive. I think I was possibly using too much pressure but to be honest, with an RRP as high as it is, I'd expect the machine to tell me my pressure was too firm or (like my electric tooth brush which was far cheaper) cut out if I use too much pressure.
After calming down on the heavy-handedness and finding a suitable cleanser (Liz Earle cleanse and polish works well as does Decolor's facial wash which I had a sample for so I've no idea if it was a discontinued or even if it was bought to market or not.) Now the Lumi does a fair enough job, I like how it has a timer per part of my face. But I have not seen excellent results. Yes my face is clean I am pretty sure but it isn't any more even (if it ever was) and though it works really well just before a skin masque (where I really do see the difference in terms of weather or not I use the Lumi) I don't get these results solely from the machine, though it does help the masque give even better results.0 -
The brushes are confusing! Cheaper ones just rotate I think - you pay more for "sonic" vibrations (which, as a long-time Sonicare user can see how it could potentially benefit skin) and others "pulse" as well.
About seven years ago the whole Clarisonic/face brush thing was quite new - I bought a Pretika SonicDermabrasion brush from ebay US, as it was supposedly similar to the much more expensive Clarisonic.
I found it was a bit too harsh for my skin, I could only use it every few days as it made my skin a bit too red! I must admit I fell out of love with it after a while and went back to my trusty microfibre cloths/Dove Soap or Superdrug Radiance Hot Cloth Cleanser.
This is someone who does regular TCA peels, has a Lightstim LED Anti-Aging Light, used to do Dermarolling (too painful even with EMLA!), has a Palovia (got back into using that)....
In other words, bit of a skincare obsessive!
Also, there are identical knockoffs (packaging etc) of the Foreo Mini on Aliexpress for around a tenner, so be very careful where you buy one from!0
