occupiers consent form

HI,
My partner is applying for an extension to their mortgage. As they are the sole lender, the mortgage company require me to complete a form of consent.
I would have assumed that this would have been a fairly easy process, but I am wrong. Occupiers form of consent seems to terrify solicitors secretaries into telling all sorts of stories to get out of dealing with this. How do I get a solocitor to take this on. I have contacted the mortgage company who have politely informed me that I have to have this signed. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't have to have it signed. You have to sign it if you will reside in the property on completion day.
Is there a requirement for it to be witnessed by an independent solicitor or something?I am a mortgage broker.
