Shadows under my eyes

I am trying to hide the shadows under my eyes.

I have a corrector pallet from the freedom makeup range which are creams and using the yellow shade and then foundation and set with powder.

But it just seem to make all the lines around around my eyes show up more.

So not sure what I should be doing or using.

I do use a eye gel before I put my make up. just want to look an even tone all over and not like I am wearing mask.

Yours

Calley

Perhaps the palette is too heavy texture wise for under your eyes, especially using foundation as well. Also powder with talc in it will settle in any lines.

An undereye brightener might be better, think YSL Touche Elcat but you can get them cheaper from loads of brands.

I have very very dark circles and just use Becca under eye brightener and then some concealer. The powder I use has no talc in it, Nars reflecting.

The thing to remember is, you are the one worrying about them, I bet others don't even notice them.

Do you drink plenty of water as well? As dehydration can make them look worse. Unfortunately mine are hereditary!

Was just about to ask this.

OP, do you smoke? Smoking will make things worse.
Does your diet include a lot of caffeine, alcohol and salt? These can affect the appearance of your eyes.

No don't smoke, rarely drink alcohol. I drink decaf coffee when I can. But do have the odd can of pepsi max.

Not sure about the salt as I try not to eat to much crap.

I doubt I drink enough water.

I would go to make up counters and try them all as its finding one that is the right tone for you!
I have filler under my eyes, its done in London by an ophthalmologist, I go once a year. It makes a world of difference although more to older people who have lost volume or young people with thin faces. It is called tear trough filling and it really does the business. Lasts about a year - I needed two syringes one each eye but many people only need one.

moneylover, that sounds like what I need!

OOP, try and increase your water intake. Also, use an eye cream. Superdrug do a lovely eye cream which brightens the skin under the eyes as well, I have found it helps mine. Not only that, Superdrug products are Leaping Bunny certified :)
