how do I pay - college

Hiya,

As some of you are aware, my OH and myself are experiencing debt problems and if would seem that my OH will petition his own BR, unless the CAB can suggest something different when we see them early next month.
Now I have a problem, I need to pay for my daughter college equipment that she will need for the coming year, I have the cash for this saved.
I need to send payment away, and we have stopped using the current account in my OH name as the bank is a creditor, so we have no checkbook, or debit/cc as they are also from the same bank. Now given that time is moving on towards the begining of the new term, paying by cheque would delay in equipment being delivered, so would it be ok to pay by my OH's other credit card that has got NO outstanding balance on it, (never has had) and I can then pay it straight off the card? Would this cause problems with and future OR that we have to deal with? Im deperate, I dont want her to start without the things she needs.

What do you think?
I cant ask my parents to pay by their card as they would want to know why we cant, and they would be horrified if they knew our situation!

As long as you keep a record of the transactions and can prove where the funds for them originated I can't see any problem if it is paid off the card via funds from you.

Should the OR question the transaction you would be able to prove that it was nothing untoward.

  • Thanks Fermi, we should get an invoice/receipt back with the goods so I will keep that with the cc statement.
