Ugg Boots question

Hi all
So my beloved Uggs are nearing the end of their life and I would like some new ones.

I have fibromyalgia and plantar fasciitis which causes me to have very painful feet and bad circulation so my feet are always cold and my real Uggs have been a godsend to me. The current ones were a present nearly four years ago and were bought at Fenwick of Newcastle as were their predecessors bought when I received some compensation six years ago, they tend to last me on average about three years.

I don't get on with other makes, I have some Skechers ones my mum got me for Christmas last year and they're very worn down already. I haven't got a clue where to start! I'm wary of buying online as I know there's an awful lot of fake sites out there and I don't use EBay so I would prefer to buy in a shop but if anyone knows any reputable sites that have offers on etc I may consider.

I would be looking for the classic short in black. I don't use cash back sites but wouldn't be adverse to signing up for one.

Try tReds. they have quite a few reduced price Uggs at the moment. Topcashback, if you join, could shave a bit off the price. Free delivery and returns.

MandM direct often have cheapish Uggs as well.

Have you tried orthotics for your fasciitis? With orthotics you can then take them to fit to each shoe or boot and not have to worry about searching for a foot bed which works for your feet.


If your looking for a softer foot bed you can get furry/sheepskin insoles from places like Ugg or cheaper at Celtic Sheepskin (who also make Uggs and apparently were the first to bring Uggs to the UK).


Emu are another make who get good reputations for their durability but I've heard lots of negative things about Uggs not lasting as long as they used to since they were bought by Deckers and made in China not in Australia.


Check out Amazon for Uggs though make sure you buy from a reputable seller or Amazon themselves rather than chance it on the market place.

Mrs_Ryan I too also suffer from fibromyalgia and again I live in my Ugg boots. I have a few pairs and like you they really help to keep my feet warm.

My newest pair were from Selfriges online but I know other major high street websites also do them.

There is a reason why I say major high street websites is because you really have to make sure they are the real Ugg's and not fakes. My nephew bought a pair for his girlfriend online at ebay and they turned out to be fake and the seller some what disappeared after selling a few hundred pairs. This left him having to re buy a genuine pairs and be out of pocket.

I notice Schuh have them for £103 at the moment but I don't know how long I will be waiting for my money to arrive.
I'll have a good look once I've got it but yes clarryd you're so right- I don't want to fall prey to a scam. That's why I'm hoping my money gets here soon as that Schuh offer is excellent and obviously a well known high street name.

have you considered just sheepskin? i love my uggs but have bought just sheepskin classic long and then classic short from f&f online (tesco clothing) and am now converted, worth looking into, as i got mine for £60 at christmas then second pair around easter, tesco often discount them.

OP, Ugg boots won't help your Plantar Fasciitis, you need support to help it get better, Ugg boots don't provide this, they may be making it worse. They may keep your feet warm but they aren't doing you any other favours ! Try some more supportive boots but with a sheepskin liner.

My Plantar Fasciitis went away after using orthotic supports, it's never come back.

Have you looked at QVC? They sell many different designs of EMU and UGG boots.

I have a pair of fleece lined docs and practically live in them. I have a curved spine and hip problems(prone to dislocations) had to wear built up shoes as a kid, but now I can get away with ankle and knee supports. and on top of this I'm always cold- poor circulation. I bought the 'Serena' docs last year, sturdy soles without being heavy/clumpy (sadly some of the boots are clumpy and no good pain riddled legs) , warm and I bought a size bigger so I can wear thick socks and ankle support. I find shoes that are 'flat' make the pain in my lower back worse- although I did buy a pair of trainers from Tesco because my others were ruined and I couldn't really afford to replace them and yet the £9 pair from Tesco feel much better the sketchers which claimed to be cushioned. It's like wearing slippers when they are on my feet yet are brilliant across the bridge of my foot and ankle

I totally agree with you and your experience is the same as someone else I know who had PF. She actually got hers after taking to her Ugg boots full time and continuing to walk the same mileage she did. In the end she had to give them up and wear supportive footwear and do exercises (you could easily do the same exercises by rolling tennis balls or golf balls under your feet back and around in circles (the challenge is to keep them under your feet but still moving!)


But having said that, if the OP is dead set on feeling they help then who are we to argue. If the PF is going away or being remedied by wearing them then maybe she has reason to stay with them. But like you, the PF went away for the person I know within a few weeks after stopping wearing her Uggs, so although I agree, its the OPs choice if this is not the way they want to go.

I don't wear my Uggs all the time. I save them for when my feet are most painful and the winter when my feet get badly cold. When I go out I tend to wear trainers or if I have to be smart I have more built up suede ankle boots. I've had PF since I was a teen and it comes and goes- when my feet are really painful the only shoes I can bear are my Uggs, thankfully not too often!
My Mum has kindly bought me a pair of Skechers as a present so I'll be wearing them too.
I've found other brands don't last as long- like I say Mum bought me some Skechers version of Ugg type boots at Christmas and they're badly worn already.
