I don't want to set a target, coz I actually want it to be £0. Theory, being if it was >£0 then I've been tempted to buy something un-necessary! I can't think of a single reason to have cash!

Gotta love those Coinstar machines in Sainsbury's. Not sure how much they charge per pound, but it's not a lot. Got about £15 last time I emptied my jar :)
  • I think the coinstar machine at our local Asda charges 7p per £1.....you'd be amazed at the amount of times i've actually taken the change to one of those machines, and managed to do a full weeks shopping on the proceeds!!

I find i save more in what I call "shrapnel" than if i try and save £ coins. It's too easy to dip into a £ jar and take a £1/2 coin into the shop for milk if you fancy a coffee, whereas if you have to take it in pennies, you feel embarrassed about it and drink water instead!

I have an unopenable money tin which OH and I put anything less than a £1 coin in, you never miss those "little fiddly" coins and they'd just get spent on rubbish anyway.

Well so far this week it's kinda not worked. They have a Starbucks in the London office & therefore everyone goes to Starbucks for a break. Very difficult to not fit in. So I bought my own green tea & take that down. Hot water is Free. So took £10 out, bought tea, & a few newspapers etc.

Off to Manchester tomorrow & need cash for Taxis. All on expenses but cash nevertheless! Is there anyway around this?
