The EU and UK government are taking away people's right to choose!
Millions of people in the UK have stopped smoking Tobacco cigarettes and have moved over to Vaping as an alternative. The EU are taking away vapers right to choose.
Article 20 of the Tobacco Products Directive essentially bans all current electronic cigarette models on the market currently. What is more scary is that people who are using electronic cigarettes just aren't aware.

Please give more details.
It would appear to me that it restricts vaping, does not ban it.
It is almost as unpleasant being in a restricted space with someone vaping as with someone smoking.
Don't over dramatise the facts, it is not being banned, it is being restricted.
They are also going to be restricted to over 18s, as are cigarettes.
You can't have a totally unregulated market when the consequences of consuming these products are unknown. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
If it stops people waving them smelly things around then I'm all for it.0

I too am all for some regulation on them.
I see many more walking around with one of them than I used to see with a cigarette, most likely because they can be smoked in more places.0 -

The difference here (and call me cynical if you like) is that electronic cigarettes are eating into the profits of the tobacco industry, who still have a surprising amount of political influence.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Sadly not. As soon as they became popular, the tobacco industry bought up vaping companies and released (and heavily promoted) their own brands. In April 2012, American brand Lorillard purchased Blu for $135m. In 2014, Japan Tobacco took Zandera, maker of E-Lites. Imperial Tobacco concluded a deal with Hon Lik, the Chinese inventor of the e-cigarette. Philip Morris International, the makers of Marlboro, bought Nicocigs. And in December 2012, British American Tobacco purchased a Manchester start-up called CN Creative.
