Made all the difference when I was studying, working and in a financially unbalanced relationship, but that was way back before meanstesting a universal benefit was a glint in a politicians eye. Only benefit I've ever had. Got me through and qualified to pay my own way and taxes. Am eternally grateful. We can't all have perfectly planned lives. Should still be universal
I have borrowed from my future self
The banks are not our friends

Some people might need it so everybody should get it? Makes no sense

What about all the other stuff people get by breeding? Child tax credits, housing benefits, free prescriptions etc

Change it to a tax allowance that can be claimed by the parents, max of 2 children).
Also allow married couples to share their tax allowance.

Apparently since I was born the Population has increased by
    2,953,254,720!!!!

Developed countries are pretty stable and mostly barely able to cope with their current decreased citizen!

There's little of shortage of people, there's shortage of people with the 'right' passport sadly!

Maybe instead of benefits everyone who is needy could have a just giving page and justify why they deserve the money of the nett contributors

It is then up to the people who are paying who gets what and how much

I wonder how much your average socialist/snp would contribute.

It's easy when your spending someone else's money
