Beverly Beaute - Do Not Get Cheated!!!

I have recently qualified as a nail technician, and was looking for gel polishes to get for the salon. I couldn't decide between Harmony Gelish and Jessica Geleration products, so thought I'd get a mixture.
I had been a little wary of going through Beverly Beaute to purchase products, due to their low prices and not being based in the UK, but I had been advised by our nail tech trainer that she had used the site due to their vast extent of products, and that she had never had any problems. So, even though I thought there would probably be a charge at customs at the UK end, I thought I would put an order in, because I could get all the products I wanted and all from the same place.
Well, how stupid I was. I placed an order for £313 on 5th June, and received an email the following day confirming shipping. I was given a 5 to 9 working day delivery estimate. After the 10th working day, and with no products, I emailed Beverly Beaute to ask why it had not arrived. They responded relatively quickly to advise that there had been a delay due to a back log at customs, but that it would be with me shortly.
After another week, still no parcel. I contacted Beverly Beaute again. They reiterated that there had been a delay, but that my parcel was now with Royal Mail, and I should receive it in a couple of days.
After yet another week, still no parcel. So, I decided to contact customs myself. They had no record of a parcel ever being checked for my address!
I went back to Beverly Beaute, and advised them that I did not care for being lied to. I asked for a response or refund within 48 hours or I would be forced to take matters further. I got neither. So, I contacted them yet again to advise them of how disappointed I was at their appalling customer service, and that I would now be taking action against the company.
They finally responded asking for me to re-confirm my address so that they could check with Royal Mail. At this point I'd had to buy other products through another stockist, due to pending appointments. So, I told them there was no point in confirming my address, as I no longer wanted the order. I also pointed out the original order had the correct delivery address, and I knew if I re-confirmed it, they would just send out the overly delayed order, and blame Royal Mail. I again asked them for a refund. I received no response, and no refund.
Thankfully, I paid through my Visa Debit Card. You can now initiate 'Visa Charge Back', where you contact your bank, and explain that you have paid for goods with your Visa Debit Card, and have not received them. The bank then asks you to complete a form and send evidence of contact with the seller, to which they will then investigate, and claim the money back from the seller's merchant. If it wasn't for Visa and their work, I still would be £313 short. However, the one down side is that this sort of action having to be taken will only add on to interests rates etc. If every company was like Beverly Beaute, the world would be in meltdown!
Beverly Beaute are an extremely unprofessional company! To not send the order is one thing. But, to then lie about it's whereabouts is something else! They had never sent my order, and just thought they would fob me off with a load of stories, hoping I would just forget about it. And for them to then just ignore me when I asked for a refund is criminal. May be I was silly to order with a foreign company, but I just want to warn others not to make the same mistake, or else they may not get their order, or their money back!!!

quite a few online reviews in various places on them, but i'm very surprised that your trainer appears to have recommended them as they are not a UK authorised seller so any insurance you have, would likely be invalid. if you have any issues with products purchased from them, it's highly unlikely you'd get any assistance from them, unlike if you've purchased from a valid uk distributor.

if you have a look on the professional forum salon geek, BB are mentioned frequently & it's recommended NOT to buy from them. think you would have been liable for hefty duty charges if the order had been received into the UK any way, possibly confiscated by customs due to the nature of goods? (not sure if that is still happening).

I'm assuming you declared to Visa that this was a business transaction ? If not I wouldn't go spending that £313 just yet

Exactly what Abbie said. Only ever buy products from authorised stockists. There are a lot of fakes floating about! Salon Geek is worth joining if you're not already a member.
  • Although I no longer work as a nail technician, I am qualified, with Backscratchers and OPI.
I now only do my own and my family members nails, but recently bought a new OPI LED Lamp and decided to buy some OPi Gel polishes.
Normally I research the sites, but to my embarrassment, this time, when I saw the Beverly Beaute site, I thought it looked professional and placed an order for 7 polishes and some remover wraps. This totalled £119.55.
I had an immediate confirmation and the next day I had another email saying my order had been dispatched.
This was on 24th Feb and I still have no products.
I emailed them and got one of their generic customer services replies. I have emailed them again and had no reply at all.
Thankfully, my bank, HSBC have taken up the matter and are reaccrediting my account. They will open a dispute with BB to reclaim the funds, but will refund me within 2 working days.
Do not use this company, but if you have, and have not received your order, contact your bank. They will be able to help.
