IVA final payment, now what?

Hi

My final IVA payment has just gone out the account.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: So now the wait for the completion certificate begins and I will never through any fault of my own get into that position again.

My querey is do I look at my credit files now or wait until completion certificate is received? I really want to wrap every loose end up within the free trial month if I can. I haven't bothered prior to this as I have not been able to apply for credit for 6 years so its never bothered me but want a mortgage again in the near future, well 2 - 3 years.

Any advice greatly appreciated

  • Robapoloza, I exited my iva on the 14 this month and my certificate of compliance was sent out straight away. I registered it with the 3 maim credit reference agencies. I asked for any defaults be removed from my account. The 3 main agencies are Experian Equifax and call credit. My Experian credit rating has returned to excellentand this weekend I visited the bank and was instantly offered a credit card at 6.9% interest rate and an overdraft of up to £4000.00. I politely refused thar amount of credit but took an acceptable £500.00 and for cases of emergency the credit card with a limit of £2500.00. The one thing the last six years has taught me is to live within my means and credit cards are only to be used in dire emergency. But it is nice to know that my credit status has been restored after six years of hell. Sign up to all the main agencies after you have received your Certificate of Conformance, scan it send it to then and keep a lookout at how things go. Be sure you cancel in the free period so you do not get charged.
