Can I get a mortgage whilst in my probationary period at work?

Hi all!
I have been in the process of applying for a mortgage (I am a first time buyer).
I have received my decision in principle based on the required info - including only being in my current job for two months (Previously a full time student). Natwest refuse to offer a mortgage to anyone in a probationary period.
Is there a mortgage lender out there who could offer me a mortgage based on this?
Thanks!! :T

Nationwide would probably help, but see a broker.0

TSB
Me and my partner have just got our mortgage and we are both in probationary periods.

How long is probationary period?
We have gone with Natwest because, like yourself, I was in my first job post uni. A lot of lenders wanted me to have been working in my job/sector for a year. Natwest considered my degree as related to my field, so weren't concerned I hadn't been in my job for a year. I wasn't in probation when we applied though.0 -
Probationary period now and less than a year in the job.
Nat West were never the right option.
You could take a punt on a Lender suggested here by someone who does not know your full situation. Or do the smart thing and engage a broker.I am a Mortgage Broker

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the advice! I have now spoken with a broker and TSB are the best option for me
Natwest would have been ideal due to all my banking being with them; however TSB has better rates at the moment so it would seem a blessing in disguise!0 -

Well, I hope you do not have a probationary period.I am a Mortgage Broker

To avoid confusion for other viewers of this post.
Nat West are not a suitable Lender for applicants who are about to, or have just changed, employment, and are subject to a probationary period.I am a Mortgage Broker

Got a mortgage offer with Natwest even though I was in the job for just 4 months. We did go via broker though, but based on their terms, it looks like as long as you are a graduate you will be fine.0
