Halifax remortgage

Hi all,
Got a few queries regarding a Halifax remortgage. Would be greatful if someone could clear up a couple of things. I have called Halifax but the person I got through to wasn't sure of the answers , must have got through to the wrong department!
We have just got an AIP which is valid for 90 days so am I right in thinking once we make a full application and if all goes as planned we get a remortgage offer , this mortgage offer is valid for another 90 days from the date of the offer?
Our current deal with another lender expires mid November so I'm thinking we should apply mid August or can we apply now taking into account the time it takes to get to the mortgage offer stage?
