  • and the insurance is on the high side due to my age (22).

Have you tried adding an older and more experienced driver (perhaps a parent) as an additional driver?
I also forgot to include £10 per month bank account fee (which gives me breakdown cover, mobile phone ins etc)

Are you sure you are getting £120 worth of services out of it?
If I do have any spare money left over at the end of a month, what would I be better paying? Would it be better to make a payment to the B.O.S credit card, as the 0% finishes sooner?

I'd put it to the MBNA card, as that is not only the highest APR, but the balance is currently going UP instead of down.

If you continue to pay just the current £50pm, you will never clear it.
  • Thanks Bob.

I already have a parent on my car insurance, but I am hoping that it may go down when it is up for renewal in December.

I have looked at purchasing breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance seperately but it is not really any cheaper, so it is easier just to keep it all with Natwest paying monthly.

As I said before, the MBNA credit card has a balance of £2,900, but £1,700 of this is at 0% interest until July 2016. So I am getting charged 22.95% interest on £1,200, which is about £23 per month. So at the moment, the balance is going down by £27 per month. The problem is when the 0% finishes, my payments will only just cover the interest. This is why I was asking about my credit rating, as it would really help me if I could then shift to a card with 0% interest.

    Thanks.

Please get yourself self excluded, this can be for a period up to 5 years http://www.gambleaware.co.uk/confidential-support-and-advice/self-exclusion

Unfortunately at the moment this has to be done at each gambling company you use, however in the near future there will be a national self exclusion list, http://www.nationalcasinoforum.co.uk/sense-2/
  • I have already self excluded myself from all of the sites that I have accounts with.

I know its not going to be easy, but this time I am confident that I can do it. I am just determined to get my debts paid off as soon as possible, so I can make a fresh start and be able to start saving for a deposit for a house. It does get to me when I think of how much money I have wasted and how much debt I have got myself in, but it has happened and I cant change it so I just need to get on with it and pay the consequences.

Thanks for all of your support everyone.
