Will we get a mortgage?

My partner and I got a mortgage promise from Halifax last month for £211,000 over maximum 33 years on maximum ltv 90% we got an offer accepted this month on a house for £180,000 and have put in for full application for £162,000 which has been referred to business decision team.
The reason it has been referred is down to a satisfied default of around £500 from 2011 on my partners credit file. This is disputed as we were not aware until last year when we cleared it in full and over the period of the default their is quite a few months where it shows no default and the balance as £0. Their is a notice of correction on my partners credit file.
He does have a few late payments over the last 6 years and has had 2 arrangements to clear credit cards. He has been totally debt free for over 12 months with payments on both contract phones made on time and bank account kept in order. In the last 12 months we have saved £20,000 which is the deposit we are using.
My partner is on £43,000 and my income includes employment, a buy to let (rental income) and child benefit of £20,000. What are the chances of us getting the mortgage?

Do we get one of these 'Halifax with poor credit history' queries every two days on here - or is it every day?
