Perfectly correct. Dogs are happier if they know their place and what is expected of them, in my experience.Tru, I was the only one in the house our dogs obeyed instantly, I loved them but never let them feel they were equals, I was pack leader and everyone else was a pack member and had no real weight in their eyes. My MIL used to complain when they begged while she was eating, I had no sympathy because she used to feed them titbits off her plate - they never came near me while I was eating, they knew it was useless. Does that make me sound really mean?
We try to re-create what our guests are used to at home, but that said, it's "our house, our rules". Those that are allowed on the furniture at home are allowed here - once either Mr LW or myself has invited them. If they get up uninvited, they are told to get OFF pretty smartly. And treats are given either by hand away from the dinner-table or into the dogs' own dishes. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon, (((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you need one. Not a happy bunny, forecast was for rain, it hasn't, I could have done 2 loads of laundry and got them dry outside gggrrrrrr.
It poured all yesterday afternoon and well into the night, the pavement was wet when I got up, but soon dried up.....OH went for his INR, picked up DD2 and brought her over, she comes every couple of weeks to make sure we are behaving. She went back on the bus.
I had done the Monday clean before she arrived, had just put a loaf on when she walked in the door.
OH had words with the council today about the Japanese Knotweed, they have confirmed it is Knotweed and they will be coming to deal with it in September. I just hope it has not spread to next door.0 -
Evening everyone
Had a bit of a hectic week and weekend. Took ds2 to theme park & 2 castles at the beginning of last week. Then at the weekend had a family wedding on saturday, an amazing time and the bride looked beautiful. Then on Sunday had family round for a BBQ in the rain.
Today has been a chill out day, apart from going to drs, got a slight infection on my scar from op so on antibiotics. Need to pack over next few days as going on holiday at the weekend. Going self catering to Spain . Hoping to go to local markets for shopping and have BBQ in the sun.
Tru - our dogs know who really is in charge here - me. I don't spoil them and they only get treats in their bowls and no titbits at the table or even in the vicinity of it.
Snoozer - glad your daughter is improving.
Redruby - waves over to the south, hope you got the cheeky madam sorted.
Mrs L - enjoy your break in Barcelona.
TA - thinking of you, we are going through similar with FIL.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care0
