I am looking for second job. Is there a qualification that can land me a job for evenings/weekends? I heard that there is a 5 week course to become a mechanic or plumber or electrician etc. Are these recognizable by the industry? As for IT qualifications which could you suggest? In general which qualification could give me a second job? Not in these sectors specifically, anywhere really, apart from care.

Mechanic's require years of training and training never stops.
Plumbing requires quite a long training period and certifications to be obtained to be able to work on gas supplies by yourself. It's quite dangerous.
Electrician need certification which also takes a few months and on the job training is pretty much an essential. You need to continue training throughout your career to keep up with the latest standards.
IT qualifications can be completed within a month if you can find one starting soon. They cost about £1,000 per week. To get a job you still need experience but once you've got a little experience you can move up a lot quicker doing the training which again never stops.
You don't need any training to work on a factory floor or distribution centre.
Can you drive? You've already got the training for a driving job.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

This is all sounding a little familiar ...
You cannot become a mechanic/ plumber or an electrician in five weeks.
What qualifications do you have to date?0 -
Fast food delivery requires no training0

I would very much doubt it.
Data centre work requires you to have experience.
Helpdesk hours are 9 to 5 with some flexibility required from the day workers to occasionally cover 7am to 7pm with maybe just one member of the team manning the whole helpdesk in the early morning or late evening. You can't do just evening work.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

What few 24/7 help desks there are tend to be overseas based.0 -

Yes there are....in India.
Many companies will outsource out of hours support to somewhere that has a low cost of labour such as India. UK workers would like penalty rates for working evenings and weekends and it doesn't become worth employing highly experienced workers to most probably just sit around and do nothing most of the time so they outsource call handling and logging elsewhere and when the UK IT workers come back in to work they'll see what's happened overnight and will action it. If it's really a priority 1 call then the engineers in the UK will be woken up in the middle of the night to come and fix it. It's very rare for a priority 1 call to be logged overnight. You might only see 1 per month in a large company.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Why do you keep changing your name on here and asking the same questions if you're not a troll? Don't feed, people.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0
