Twitter question, is it possible to move followers......

to a new account? I know this is an odd question but I'm closing my old twitter account and using a new one that I have made that is linked to my blog. Is there any tool of any kind that any one knows of that I can use to move them over to the new one? If not.... any advice on what I can do?

Also.... if my account closes, will old tweets and RT's disappear? I don't want to enter any comps that I may have potentially entered with my old account.

Or just setup a new one, and point people to it.

I wouldnt think it would be possible to transfer followers to a new account as someone has to push follow to follow you if you get what i mean. If you delete your account, your tweets and RT's will disappear too so maybe leave the account dormant for a month and just post a tweet redirecting people to your new account.
Just make sure youre not comping on both as you cant have more than one account for similar purposes

just an afterthought.. http://futuretweets.com or similar tweet scheduler could be handy- setup some reminder posts, each day for a week, or so, with the new account @ ?

You can change the name and the @name on a twitter account without loosing anything, all the stuff you have already done changes name too like when you change the picture.
