I've been told that a k16 search only goes back 4-5 years and if that the case I should be fine.
I just wanted to know as I wouldn't want it to go right to the end and then they pull out from a search.
Has anyone had any dealings with Llyods?0 -
Given your situation I assume you used a mortgage broker, what have they told you so far?
Whoever told you about the solicitor search is not well informed so hope that is not your broker.I am a Mortgage Broker

I want to Llyods direct as last year I had a meeting with them lay years and was told I was in the top 5% of customers and was offered loans to mortgages which I was pretty shocked with don't get me wrong I've been a saint since the bankruptcy never missed a payment and built up my credit score though the usual methods.
I did inform them at the time of my bankrupcty and they still wanted to offer me credit cards loans etc.
They did say that it needed to be 6 years since bankrupcty before they would lenned to me but shouldn't have a problem.
And yesterday I was offered one in principle but was never asked the question.
So I just wanted to know if this is going come up later down the line? And if so would it be best to tell them about it before hand?
I will try a broker as well.0 -

Yes, be honest for sure. It is likely that the issue will arise, although not necessary guaranteed so why take the chance?
I can get frustrating on here at times and apologies if it is not the case here. Generally there are people out there who want to go direct to save a broker fee.
Then we see on here looking for reassurance and asking further questions where potentially the only credible people who will know the answers are... brokers
Furthermore it is short sighted as engaging the right broker would save more than their fee potentially in cases like this and others, where the clients own bank is not necessarily going to be the optimum terms
Rant over
Back to OP, get some formal advice and save the uncertainty.I am a Mortgage Broker

If the question has not been asked then I can't see how it is likely to rear it's head later down the line. If it was me, and I was asked, I would be honest and tell the truth. But if they don't ask, I don't see why you should have to volunteer the info. Also, the BR is no longer on your credit file. The only place where a BR lurks forever is in the London Gazette. However, this information is very limited (name, address, occupation at time of BR) that I don't see how it can be linked to you as there is no personally identifiable information.0
