Nationwide offer text message - what next?

I received a text message from Nationwide 2 days ago saying they have issued a formal offer. What should I expect to happen next?

My application was placed through a broker but I have not yet heard from them. Will Nationwide post me paperwork to sign or does this go via the broker? I am paying off some credit cards (at 0% interest) so am wondering if this paperwork would list any terms such as paying off before completion. It is a new build completing in December.

Thanks for any advice.

Offer will usually contain the requirement to pay off anything that you've said will be paid off or that they require to be paid off before completion.

I would get in contact with the broker and ask for an update.

Your mortgage offer will arrive in the post.

It will tell you what to do.

Your solicitor now handles the legal work.

It took a week, well just over, from offer text to receiving offer through the post. :-/ Surprised broker not been in touch as they usually like to tell you the good news (and not keen on their thunder being stolen by nationwide sms dept)

Broker should not have left the text option 'on' with Nationwide if he wanted to make the 'glory call'.

Thanks for the info. I just won't beleive it until I see something in writing as it's Help to Buy equity loan and only 9 days between application and offer text.

Having spent several months being extra careful on my spending, they apparently only wanted to see payslips and 1 months bank statement and don't even appear to have run an Experian credit search other than the initial ID check.

Most likely there'll further checks prior to the funds being released. Given that completion is months away.

Their broker website says 9 days from app to offer on average, so sounds feasible.

    Hi,

I got a offer text on a Tuesday and the official offer letters came through the post on Friday :)

Some receive multiple/contravening text's, I reckon they still use typewriters in Bournemouth. Some student locked in a broom cupboard with a pay as you go mobile texted random messages.

Broker can download and email their copy to you for reassurance
