Vodafone-failed credit check

I'm hoping someone here can help. Almost four years after declaring bankruptcy I have just been turned down for a mobile phone contract with Vodafone. I am coming to the end of a 24 month contract with T-mobile and Vodafone were offering a better deal. As I had taken out my current contract after bankruptcy it never occurred to me that I might be refused a new contract.
Burst into tears outside of the shop and am now in meltdown as I have been so careful for four years and am saving for a house for when my 6 years is up. Is this going to have an adverse affect on my credit report?
Panicking like mad. Wanted to keep a contract phone so to show that I can be responsible and am at a loss now over what to do.
Thanks for reading.

Probably can only get a sim-only deal? so keep on contract that way?
Happened to me couple of years into a DRO - couldn't be supplied a physical phone but was offered sim only no problem0 -
I got a vodafone sim only, a few days after my IVA completed. I had to phone as credit check failed online. If you get a month by month sim only, you can probably upgrade in a few months, I could upgrade after my 12 month deal0

I thought credit checks were carried out for sim-only deals too? Willing to buy a handset outright but would prefer to have a monthly payment showing on credit file.
Will the fact I've been turned down show up months down the line? or is it a temporary blip?
thanks0 -
Can't you upgrade with your current supplier? No credit check then.
Edit. I upgraded with T mobile a few months ago around my discharge date. I ported to EE because they are moving everyone over but no credit check & I'm on sim only annual contract.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
SPC 11 (2018) #4850 -
I was being frugal and trying save a few pounds per month, EE were charging £3 per month more than Vodafone - I work for the NHS so get 20% discount with them. But they didn't want me! I've already given my 30 days notice to T-mobile/EE now, might have to go crawling back with my tail between my legs! Knowing my luck they will have to credit check me now that i have asked to cancel. Not really bothered about a fancy phone just want something showing on my credit report, preferably without paying a small fortune every month0

I was turned down online for a sim only with vodafone, but when I phoned them they were happy to override it. For them there isn't much risk. They might see the failed check, but it shouldn't bother them as for different product with different risk
The key is to phone them0 -
I could be wrong but I believe Three don't credit check for Sim only, not what your after though.
Do your own research of course.0 -
For sim only I think the only thing three are interested in is whether your debit card is active. They do report, to the CRAs
For a phone I would be surprised if they didn't do a more in depth check0
