While my arithmetic analysis of iBoost is not encouraging, the iBoost does prevent most of my export irrespective of exactly where cuts-in happens. See graph below for a productive day showing very little activity below the x axis.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

I don't see a graph. Is it my browser or the site?
Using Firefox.
Cheers

And it's not Firefox either as I've just tried that and see the graphs there as well. Suspect it might be some obscure setting that you've (inadvertently ?) chosen when setting up Firefox.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Strange.
Nothing on Firefox.
Just loaded the page using IE and it does show a small icon where the graph should be, but no graph and even if I click on it to load image, nothing comes.
I will have to look at my settings.
Thanks for letting me know, it will give me something to sort out tomorrow while I am working!
Cheers

Since late November 2014 install solar energy diverted to the immersion is 588 kWh. That falls a long way short of fulfilling my hot water requirements.
Efficiency of boiler for hot water only heating is 49.7%. I will add 5% loss for the short copper run from the boiler to the hot water cylinder. Efficiency therefore 44.7%.
Gas saving is 588 / 0.447 = 1315 kWh.
This prices on Ovo Better Energy inclusive of VAT as 1315 * .0304 = £39.89 saving.
Loss of export earnings
588 kWh @ £0.0485 per kWh = £28.51
Loss of export earnings? So you've an export meter then? Most of us don't and the calculation is an assumed 50% of your generation.
We're all different. I'm just two weeks short of 2 years into my installation and with the iboost have saved 2127kwh.
How do I assess that saving at 1060 units c. per year? My unit cost at Ebico (no standing charge) is 5.19 p. per unit incl VAT. Before someone says that there are cheaper tariffs, if I used the Ovo one you have I'd effectively be paying over 10p per unit with my gas consumption! I just use a rule of thumb, have ignored boiler efficiencies or even the fact that I don't use the boiler for six + months of the year and save on servicing costs.
So 1060 @ 5p (nominal) = £53 saving per year (as I say, ignoring boiler efficiencies etc.)
iboost at cost £210 (incl. VAT), so pay back 4 years (l'll let others argue the toss about capital, opportunity cost, etc., etc.).
So we're all different and everybody will have to synthesize their own situation and come to their own conclusions.0 -
PS Using Firefox and see the graph.
The iboost seems to have a buffer of around 200W.
I export around 35% of my production.0 -
Off topic....
Reset Firefox and used different browsers but none show the graph. I think it is blocked by the company. I noticed that my 'Postimage' account is blocked from here. I am on a ship in the middle of the Caspian Sea, so lucky to have internet at all.
Anyway, back on topic...
My iBoost was thrown in with the deal for me although obviously nothing is actually free and if I haddn't had the iBoost I am sure I would have got a further reduction in my installation, but I like to think it was free so that anything diverted is pure savings for me.
It all depends on how you look at it.Martin (With an I)

We don't do too bad for bandwidth, I just think it is company policy to block certain things.
At least I can monitor my SE stuff from hereMartin (With an I)
