Ally - I cannot believe it!! I am off to the dentist this afternoon with 2 broken teeth, one done on a rogue ryvita & the other, like yours, on a BLOODY PEANUT!! Been awake since 3.30 a.m as am a bit of a dentist-phobe. mr f is taking me as he knows I will bottle it & not go if he doesn't drive me to the city centre & drag me in their front door. have been keeping really busy all morning to try & keep the stress down, but it's building up now.
    Oh dear.....

Ally, on the bright side, if you are both claiming JSA presumably you won't have to pay for the dentist so as well for it to happen now as when you've found a new job!

After much discussion we've decided not to sign on for a few days, for the sake of our sanity, but we will plan any expensive dental treatment required around our benefits. Monday's check-ups will be free. We know we've paid National Insurance all this time and are entitled to get something back and we know there's no shame in claiming when we've worked hard most of our lives but we need a 'holiday' while we plan our future without the Jobcentre breathing down our necks and generally impeding our progress.

    Hi Friday Frugalistas,
Just squeezing in a very quick post before I have to be dragged to the dentist. Getting very wound up. I am a pretty tough, confident old bird most of the time, but dentists, lifts & spiders........Aaaagh!!
Oh, happy birthday to Ziggy, before I start my list x
OK, Today's nervous dentist person's list:
*Cleaned whole house to within an inch of its life to try & burn off some adrenalin. used only Stardrops & washable cloths.
*Paid 2 x 50p pieces into my sealed pot.
*Had email from Sainsbury's first thing with a refund voucher. I didn't notice when I took delivery of the shopping yesterday that they had not given us the special offer price on a joint of pork, which meant we had overpaid by £5. mr f couldn't BELIEVE I hadn't checked this. I said that even us committed tightwads make mistakes sometimes. Anyway, they have refunded us £8, so we are £3 up on the deal & will use the voucher next week.
*Filed a few financial bits & pieces.
*Two full sized bars of soap arrived in the post for me to test. We are also testing cat treats at the moment & I'm expecting another test product (body lotion) to arrive soon. All these free products to test have just come about through surveys.
*Have asked mr f to photograph a pile of ebay items tonight. I intend to list as much as I can over the weekend, as our 100 free listings apparently come to an end on Monday, when I shall be busy as it's my Big Budget Day.
OK, I can't remember if there are other things. All I can think of is that I'm going to have to have my teeth drilled & if they can't be repaired through filling, it will probably have to be expensive crowns. Tummy is filling up with wasps now. Not many situations get me like this. Must get a grip. Going to pack snacks now to keep my blood sugar stable as will get more stressed if appointment overruns & I need food.
    Till tomorrow,
    f x

I'm going to do another couple of hours of DFW-style activities now. Need to burn off all this negative energy. Then I can sit down and relax:

    The List continued:

:grinheart Cleaned the upstairs with Stardrops and washable cloths. We have enough toiletries to last for a couple of months.

:grinheart Posted a dental question on a Dental Forum forum I've used before. I used to be dental phobic, but I'm ok now. Anyway they have UK dentists who volunteer to answer forum users' questions and it costs nothing.

:grinheart Used carpet cleaner spray from stores to get two marks of the sitting room carpet before they 'set'.

:grinheart Hoovered computer keyboards with mini-hoover bought in the pound shop at Christmas. Our technology needs to last.

:grinheart Entertainment will be a DVD from the back of the cupboard. Forgotten the plot.

:grinheart Swept the house instead of hoovered today.

:grinheart Sponged stain of hoodie that was clean on this morning instead of washing the whole garment.

:grinheart Did survey for 25 Tesco points from bottom of Tesco receipt.

:grinheart Uploaded receipt to Quidco ClickSnap.

    :grinheart Had a home haircut.

    Hi All

Days list was quite long and I was reluctant to get going.

    1. Work
    2. Vat for farm
    3. move stuff around house from kitchen to right place
    4. washing
    5. ironing.
    6. clean fridge

1-4 done. Will start 5 and 6 now. Cheated a lot as DS helped with VAT and DH helping with other stuff. Oh well.

Mr T tomorrow, am massively below gc target for july which is good, hope I can keep it up in august and not get carried away with my success.

    Bye for now.

    Maria

    The Dentist Wimp is back.......

It's not going to be a very money-saving experience. Just 2 check-up fees today, but I have to go back for 2 long appointments which will involve lots of drilling to sort my 2 broken teeth out. The good news is that he can do something with them. I've got to have one of them crowned & the other one will have to have a metal screw inserted down the middle so that it can be filled. Think I will put all that on a credit card & pay it off over a couple of months if I can't clear it at the month ending....at least we'll get some points for M&S or John Lewis vouchers that way. Reluctant to use emergency fund as really trying to build it up. I'll decide when I've had the work done & have seen the bill.
So that isn't going to be money saving at all, but will be teeth saving.
A few titchy little extra things:
*Still felt stressy when we got home so I sat & just did surveys like an automaton. I may have already flagged this up, but if you do Onepoll, it's a good idea to check back around teatime as there are often a lot more surveys to do then. i.e I signed in this morning & there was one survey. Signed in tonight & there were eight, which has added nicely to my total. Lots of Toluna quick votes as well (the 'sponsored content' ones) which quickly added another 360 points to my total.
*Paid another 50p into my sealed pot.
*Did not have a post-dentist takeaway even though I almost talked myself into a cheer-up pizza. mr f is instead making his lovely Moroccan Chicken which was what our meal plan said we should be eating tonight!
*Had some spare cash from grocery budget which we used for car park fees at dentist. It's at the university, so everything is about income generation.
*Received a £5 voucher for a brand survey forum I'm on at the moment (was surprised as I slated the product idea) so have updated my signature as am keeping a tally of survey earnings this year - £195 so far! Who'd have thought it? I gave the £5 voucher to mr f for putting up with me while I had flu. Putting up with me crying 'Why won't it just GO???' about 1500 times a day must have been very trying indeed, though he says not, as he understands how poorly I was. Anyway, he's added a bit from his secret tin & treated himself to a blu-ray so that was a nice treat.
Going to fuss cat now & do nothing.
    Love f x

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hiya

Busy day at work as the rain brought everyone in. But my Small things contribution for Friday:

    1) As we are almost done with July I have spent time totting up where we are on progress.. totalling up debt repayment and emergency fund topping off I have paid off/saved £625 in July. This has been through a combo of cash flow being better, earning quite a bit from side hustles, & just generally cutting back to the bone in most areas.

    2) Checking both sets of banking. I have taken to doing a PAD from the business account to the business CC as well by rounding the balance down by £5 increments. Have overpaid £13 this week via this method.

    3) £1.10 in tips and £1.02 in roadkill, including a £1 coin I found in the bank! Jammy or what!

    4) Made a delicious tomato soup for dinner which cost a whopping £2 in ingredients.

    5) Made stock

    6) Cycled all journies. Which was interesting on the way home in the torrential rain.

    7) Have planned the main meal for both weekend days as I am working and I want something to come home to.

    8) Allocated weekend extra shifts money. I will give OH £50 to take with him for the 3 days away. They are staying with the grandparents so I would imagine that is a very generous budget. I just don't want them to not have money on the train for a cup of tea or cinema tickets when they are down there. The rest I am planning to PAD against CC2. If I make any tips I will allocate that to Yellow Stickering over the weekend.

    9) Tidied kitchen, put the DW on.

    10) Did a load of shredding to keep the basket clear.

Well that's all from me. So sorry to read about the broken teeth Ally and Foxgloves that's very disturbing. Neither of you seem to have had any luck this week. Really praying you have better luck next week.

    Ziggy it's your birthday??
