Train travel: Return from nearer station

Options
I am thinking of booking a Super Off-Peak Return (day return) from Hertfordshire to Exeter St Davids next weekend. I would like to know if I can return from Tiverton Parkway.

Can anyone advise please?

I don't know, but to be on the safe side you could book a return from Herts to Tiverton and a separate return from Tiverton to Exeter. (It might even be cheaper!) You can sit on the same train for the whole journey from Herts to Exeter as long as the train stops at Tiverton.

The important part of this reply is that it is essential that the outward train stops at Tiverton. The majority don't which means that if you miss a specific train that does call there then you could have to wait for some hours for the next one.

Tiverton is a small station and you could probably just walk straight onto the platform. If there is a barrier just buy a single ticket to Exeter (or anywhere close by) to get you through and then just board your train home.

Thanks for the replies. I am aware I would need to aim for a train that stops at Tiverton Parkway (about one an hour do on Saturday), I just want to know if it is allowed.

    It's allowed

The return half of any return ticket can be used to start at an intermediate station en route.
