Go on electoral roll while in temporary accommodation?

Hello everyone,
I bought a house over ten years ago and have been on the electoral roll the whole time. I relocated a few weeks ago and am staying in a rental property for a few months until I can buy a house in the area later this year. The house I own is currently empty but now has a buyer although completion is a few months away.

My question is: should I stay on the electoral roll of the house I own or change it to the rental property?

We have mail redirection set-up on the property I own so I could have all mortgage correspondence sent there.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would have thought, at least that is the logic I've used as I'm currently pretty much in the same situation as you, that having all addresses corresponding would be best, so change everything over to the address of your temp accommodation.

I'm in a rental for 5-ish months while I wait for a newbuild and I've switched everything over. Bit of a pain, expecially with the thought that I can do it all again at the end of the year, but it does reflect the truth of my current situation.

    Thanks for your input.

I would absolutely prefer to have all addresses updated and electoral roll info correct but I’ve been reading some of the horror stories of Experian not updating their records in a timely manner, like this one:

We have to be out of the rental house in December so anything that delays the buying process could be a real problem.
