in Cutting tax
Hi,
I did ask this question a while back, I still wasn't clear on the answer.
I have a job starting as a mobile cleaner. I clean various sites within a 30 mile radius. My employer will pay mileage from the first job each day, to the last job, but not back to my home - this means that I will have to cover the journey to the first site and from the last site (60 miles round trip).
My question is can I claim the mileage (tax relief), that my employer doesn't give me (to the first job and from the last job of the day) on my tax return if it isn't covered my my employer? I understand that the first job is counted as the commute, but my first job changes each day, so is this the case?
Thanks.

It seems quite likely that you will be able to claim tax relief but your question seems a bit vague on the all important little details.
I would think that the most likely stumbling block would be if you work in a set geographical area and you live outside that area.

If that doesn’t disqualify your first and last journeys from tax relief we will need a bit more detail such as how many sites you visit and how often you go to each one.
