Paid a visit to the new Asda again today, its not doing so well but thats my gain, loads of reduced.:j
Now I had some nice little wedges of cheese for 50p instead of £1.99. Although its blue veined it does not taste "blue" if you see what I mean. I thickened a peppercorn sauce with a bit today not having double cream but I need more ideas please. I have about a kilo of it but I have put some in the freezer.
Also - does anyone know how long it keeps in the freezer?
Thanks in advance:D

I made some broccoli and blue cheese soup the other day and it was delicious - I took advantage of some slightly limp broccoli and some reduced blue cheese the other day lol. I've frozen some too, and I find it freezes really well. Or, how about some blue cheese pate or spread?
I often freeze cheese and I find it will last a good couple of months - slightly more if you wrap it well so it doesn't pick up any tastes. It does soften a bit when you defrost it, but not so much as to be inedible.0 -
If you like jacket potatoes, bake them in the oven, scoop out the middle and mix with some of the cheese, refill and grill the tops til brown.Mortgage, paid off!0

I like to crumble some into a mix of half reduced-fat mayo and half fat-free yogurt to make blue cheese dip. Or you could use it to make cheese twists - http://www.stiltoncheese.com/simple.cfm?y=y&page_id=5 or make a pasta sauce with some bacon and broccoli? Or do a blue variation on welsh rarebit!2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
Would go well on pizza, on jacket wedges or in sandwiches. How about crubled in a salad or over pasta like you would with hard cheese?0
