Dont give up hope....

3 weeks ago I was looking at how I was going to get out of becoming a mortgage prisoner. I wanted to sell my house, take out some of the equity to pay of debts and basically start again. I approached a online company who dealt with securing mortgage for people with adverse credit history. My credit rating on Equifax was Very Poor. The online advisor secured me a PID within 2 days with a Kingston along with a quotation which included a fee to be paid to the advisor of £1780! I questioned this to which I was told, the mortgage doesn't have a product fee so whats the problem. fortunately a good friend of mine recommended a local advisor. He took all my details, I gave him my credit report and today....3 weeks later I have secured a mortgage offer with the Halifax. I just wanted to let people know that even if you have a bad credit history don't think that's the end. My debts were old debts and being paid off monthly, i'm not suggesting that if you have debt you get yourself deeper but if you want to release equity to make a new start then there is hope out there.
