OP, you need to say EXACTLY what the investment is called- surely you have the report by now?

Then tell us, again exactly, the other options mentioned. AS you make no mention of other investment options incl Drawdown.

Then, lastly say WHO recommended this guy. As he doesn't sound legit. As if he was, he would not advise putting 100% of the pot (and not take the TFLS) into a structured product when he should only recommend 10-25% max. Is he on the register? How did you get his name?

Had your husband considered a SIPP with a well diversified portfolio of funds/investment trusts?

He could then take income/realise gains/re-invest as required?

He has the security of a DB pension (presumably with widow's pension) and state pension (and you yourself have a state pension) so that ( a purely personal view) this seems a more satisfactory option than what appears to be a rather opaque investment that neither he nor you understands?

Have you actually checked that this gentleman is a regulated (independent) financial adviser?
    Take a look at http://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/protect-yourself/unauthorised-firms

We are beginning to think about drawdowns?

It all seems so complicated and as you say, we do have enough money to live comfortably for some time without this other pension pot. I dont think either of us could be up for managing investments though.

I didn't think there was such a list. Can you tell us where this list is?

There was some editorial this weekend about this, funnily enough. I think it was in the MoS and produced in conjunction with https://www.unbiased.co.uk.

So no more than a yellow pages style directory and certainly not a "most used" tag.
