My debt is quite old and I've played them at their own game and made them wait a lot. I guess they just want to get something back and then close the case.
I didn't try and haggle. I was prepared to pay a figure, they came in with less than half of that, I snatched their hands off. With my other two debts still waiting to have cca's sent to me I now have a good handle on being able to clear my debts and become debt free for the first time in 16 years.0 -
Thanks. I have sent you Private Message please can you come back to me?

Thought I'd give this one closure. I am now officially £12618 less in debt and it feels great having that off my shoulders. I know it's only partially satisfied but it's better than outstanding, and in a years time it comes off my credit record anyway. Just need to deal with my other two debts that I am waiting for cca's on still (I don't think they're going to come, so I'll be offering them 10% soon) and then it's time to start rebuilding my credit ability so that I can get a mortgage with the mrs in a few years. No more getting into card debt or loans for me!!0

Hi
When you say you played them at their own game, what do you mean?
I am in a similar situation in that my debt is quite old and already off my credit file! I would still like to settle this and draw a line and move on...so really curious how you played them to get such a low settlement figure ... especially as you don't hear much about F&F settlement with NRAM!0 -
Are you dealing with NRAM direct or PRA?
My debt wasn't a mortgage shortfall, it was converted to a loan when I sold my house. If it's PRA, just ask them for a settlement figure0 -
I am dealing with NRAM0

It may be harder. Mine got passed to PRA as I didn't deal with with NRAM very well.
Ask nram if they're open to an offer. The answer is always no if you do not ask0 -
thanks. I will give it a try.0
