Me and the other half will be moving into our first home later this year, we are just waiting for the mortgages and chain to get sorted.
I was planning on getting everything we need and going through Top cashback website but never used it. is it actually any good for making any kind of decent return on money spent.
we will obviously need everything sofa, fridge to gas electric and wallpaper etc etc. I don't need to explain, im sure you all know.

Hi,
Me and my partner have just bought our first house and we chose to use quidco.
You don't get much for furniture and electrical items (2-10%) but its certainly worth doing for your building/life insurance/tv and broadband.
We haven't moved in yet and already have about 250 quid in the account (over 100 from BT).
Good luck with your move!0 -
It all adds up. Even at 1% cashback it's still better than nothing (especially on larger amounts) and it's just an extra click.
How much you get varies between companies/sites and what you're buying and sometimes they have exclusive offers.
Things like insurance and mobile contracts tend to be more cashback than things like buying a new table lamp, for example.
Topcashback and Quidco are the two top cash back sites. You can join both and go with whichever has the higher cashback offer and sometimes you may find one has a site listed that the other doesn't. Which is best is really down to personal opinion.
Certainly worth using a cashback site though whenever you shop.0 -
Thanks to you both, just signed up to quidco aswell, i will flick between the 2 to see what give the best return.
Obviously the biggest purchase the sofa, that shop isn't on there lol.
But yes if we are getting lots of things at 1-2% it all adds up. i just wasn't sure if they paid out if it was just some ploy.:j0 -
Definitely worth it! It's money for nothing really, as long as you don't buy something just because of the cashback. But if you are buying anyway then it's well worth it.
I've earned over £600 cashback since using it. I did use Quidco too but found TopCashBack offered higher rates & more bonus offers, although it's worth checking both before you buy just in case the one has a better offer.
The thing I like about TCB is that it adds a bonus on if you cash out in certain vouchers, so for instance if you choose Amazon vouchers instead of BACS payment to your account you get something like an extra 5%. I tend to mix it up throughout the year & there are the occasional retailers that only let you cash out in a certain way.0 -
I do believe it adds up like others and better than nothing. I found Topcashback a bit more organised and faster pay. When I buy someting, I check rates on both though and choose accordingly.ally.0
