Getting a message all morning saying it is offline.
After almost 15 years waiting for a house price crash, have they finally given up?
I do hope not - their batsh1t crazy rantings were always amusing

I stopped looking at the site a while ago. It's full of people stating opinions as fact
Eg. I bought my semi for £4.50 and sold it for £1.3m and I'm waiting for the market to 'correct' so I can buy it again for £5.40 and sell it for £1.9m
It's in this ten pages of graphs, trust me...0 -
I wonder whatever happened to one of their most prolific posters The Masked Turnip. He didn't own his own home, so sold his mums when she died in 2004. His predictions of an imminent HPC were somewhat deluded. Instead of buying his dream House in Swansea after the 'crash' he now lives in a dingy bedsit in Bridgend. :rotfl:0

I used to like his anecdotals of striding into Swansea estate agents and putting them to the sword verbally, and how he would leave them all open mouthed while all the buyers in their offices would cancel their purchases , newly enlightened as to the coming HPC.
He used to gloat his hands gleefully at the prospect of job losses in Wales. One afternoon I gave him a caustic dressing down for this , which prompted an absolutely furious response from him.
That afternoon I also simultaneously torpedoed Bruce Banner in one thread about renting and launched a furious and unexpected broadside on Realist Bear in another thread about gold , when he was surrounded by horrified acolytes. I do not believe Realist ever recovered from this. He began taking on water and left the forum for good shortly after, bereft of credibility .
My login didn't work the next day .

No idea as I spend most of the year at my Villa in the Algarve. :beer:ruggedtoast wrote: »I used to like his anecdotals of striding into Swansea estate agents and putting them to the sword verbally, and how he would leave them all open mouthed while all the buyers in their offices would cancel their purchases , newly enlightened as to the coming HPC.

Good times.
I humiliated both Banner and Realistbear, who maintained property in there areas (Kent and West Sussex) were going south. When providing contradicting evidence and asking them to prove otherwise, they went very silent :rotfl: Realistbear has retired from the site stating that he's been able to purchase BMV :rotfl:0 -
Wouldn't it be ironic if a site praying for a crash has crashed itself?0

I think the more likely outcome is that it will continue to die a slow lingering death as it dawns on the old guard that there is no crash coming, and that 2008 to 2010 presented the buying opportunity of a lifetime.
Their bitterness is tangible.0 -
There will be a crash eventually but it might be in 2027 when prices drop to their 2023 levels which are double what they are today.
Trouble is we won't know until 2028.Left is never right but I always am.0 -
