Well... people like that shouldn't be using a computer unsupervised!
If their PC skills are so limited, then I wouldn't recommend them storing or buying their music on their computer as they're likely to lose the files through malware or failure to backup. Better they stick to CDs.I've yet to find a file player solution that allows me to play music as quickly as I can from my CD shelf.
Go to shelf, pick up CD, place in player, press Play
That works well for me when I want to listen to a whole album. It also means that I can use the various "old fashioned" CD players in the house that aren't linked to my local network.
But mostly I listen to music on my PC (which is connected to hi-fi separates). I find it much quicker to find music in MusicBee than I do by browsing my physical CD collection. Especially when I just want to listen to a single track from various discs. Maybe you'd find MusicBee useful...?
http://getmusicbee.com/Which is why people are turning to streaming from the likes of , Tidal, Quobuz, or Deezer Elite.
So the 'Low Quality' gloat is becoming old hat slowly but surely....Eventualy Spotify will have to follow suit...
Sure; it's a good thing that basic CD-quality streaming services are gradually becoming available. And that's fine if you prefer a subscription service that only works on devices connected to the Internet. As I said before, it's a great way to discover new music. Free low-quality streaming has led to me buying quite a number of CDs.
Anyway, I'd prefer to be able to buy the music files so I can listen offline, and I don't know of any distributors that both provide FLAC files and have an extensive catalogue.
It's funny that you consider a preference towards decent audio quality as being "gloat". Maybe you don't understand because your hearing isn't as sensitive as mine? Perhaps the accusation of "gloat" is based on jealousy?0 -

You have nothing I would be jealous of as the whole issue is subjective and something you can't really prove. You have no idea if the sounds you are listening to are any better than my set up and vice versa.
Self praise is no recommendation at the end of the day.
Just enjoy, whatever you personally think sounds good. That's the whole idea.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
