Question on max mortgage

Hi I have a quick question. My OH will be a probationary teacher next year on £22k and i earn £41k. Is a £230k mortgage out of the question? We have no debt and good credit scores etc.
Or would we need to wait until OH had a full time permanent position?
Thanks in advance

The new Property price is 265k and currently have equity of c£30k to put down on this. So only just over the 10% mark. How does that sound?0
