girlfriend coming onto my mortgage - should she pay more towards it as no equity

First time this has happened so I don't know whether couples agree to split 50/50 mortgage or whether it's weighted due to the benefit of my initial deposit making the mortgage cheaper? Equity is sorted as my 150k is mine and she is putting 8k in for home improvements which will get factored into the deed.
Obviously the kind loving thing is to split it but didn't know what others do before doing that?

Do a proper deed based on equity and debt servicing.
if splitting the mortgage 50:50 you own £150k + 50% of loan and she owns £8k + 50% of loan.0
