Mortgage advisor query

Hi we have accepted an offer on my property and now need to sort a mortgage for the property I would like to buy. We have a household income of 87k but a credit card balance of 20k too (which we continue to pay off £1500 a month whilst going through the moving process). The property we're looking to buy is 270k and we have a 10% deposit. We also have an approved decision in principle from natwest. We don't have any adverse or late payments. I'm guessing though that given the credit card balance it would still be better to go to a whole of market broker, rather than a High street bank? Would that be correct? If so could anybody recommend an online broker that may be best for this circumstance? Thank you.

Interested as to why you specify an 'online broker' and what you expect from an 'online broker'?

Thanks for the reply. Being honest I would just prefer an online broker to avoid a high street face to face interview - I would just find that too personal! More than happy to provide all details of course and discuss over the phone, but really not interested in the horror stories I hear of face to face mortgage interviews that last for three hours or more! No other reason at all apart from that. Thanks.

That's horror stories from the banks. It's highly unlikely you would get a 3 hour interview from a broker.

Some brokers prefer to work face to face, while others will work by phone and post/email.

When you contact one ask them how they prefer to work. If they say face to face then they are not for you

Understand your point Derby. We identified there was no need for face to face meetings some ten years ago.

In our view the crux of the advice can be discussed in less than 20 minutes.

The rest of the information can be exchanged online quicker, easier, and more accurately.

I have yet to see another broker that works the way we do.

I think I'm going to have to work out a sales process to do this too. Struggling to fit all my appointments in!
