Hi.
Me and partner apply for a mortgage from Halifax. We have two appointment already, received permission for mortgage and pay for valuation. Next day we received phone call from bank the mortgage is stooped because i have one default five year ago on my credit rapport.
This can effect my mortgage ???
Do I have any chance to get this mortgage ???
Why bank take cash for valuation and stooped my mortgage ??
Regards

Can having a history of mismanaging debt have an effect on applying for a mortgage?
If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be applying direct to a lender and speak to an expert.0 -
Default is for 480 pound and I just find up that is on my credit rapport, but everything else is fine. I try to contact with company who put me on, nobody don't want to take payments, seeing my account has close. What should I do ???0

I'm guessing English is not your first language, which is yet another reason you should be dealing with a broker, who will make fewer mistakes.0 -
Hi dominik
When Halax do their first check they do not check everything.
Everything is checked when full application goes in.
Halifax always take valuation money first, they should refund you the money if they have declined you.
You need a mortgage broker that does a lot of work with people with defaults.I am a Mortgage Broker
