    Meal planning.
Have a look at what you have in your fridge/freezer/cupboards.
Work out what you and your daughter will eat. Bacon, egg and chips are staples in this house! Can you make pancakes? If you can, make the usual recipe of flour, egg and milk but once cooked fold in ham and cheese then serve with peas and jacket pots. Or homemade chips. The filling options are endless and they are very filling. Have a look at A Girl Called Jack's website.

I work out a menu each week. Type it up and stick it on the fridge, then everyone knows what's for dinner, when.

Don't forget milk and cheese and can be frozen. Ask on Freecycle for a slow cooker and bread maker.
