It will be interesting to see the impact that makes to the Chinese interior if goods no longer need to come to the coast to be shipped around the world. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? When we booked flights to Florida the travel agent considered routes via Madrid. Perhaps more operators should consider it as an alternative to UK airport expansion.0

If the Chinese sale goes ahead, which isn't definite, they aren't buying the terminal building or car park. I think it is destined to be a freight airport for that reason. Though there are plenty of other airports in a similar situation where such development may be possible.
One big issue though is that the airlines don't seem that interested or they would be cutting deals by now. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Ryanair already started flying from castellon airport
Castellon airport – don’t you mean Valencia North or Barcelona South airport?
Ryanair's service starts on 15 September - 3 flights a week from Stansted and 2 from Bristol.
As for Ciudad Real it did have potential – there was scheduled to be a station at the airport on the Madrid to Seville AVE high speed line connected to the terminal via a footbridge. But the station was never built. I nearly booked a flight there in 2010 when Ryanair briefly operated the route given the potential for a fast transit to Madrid – until I discovered the station wasn’t being built. If the Chinese are willing to pay for the station – and the AVE stops there – it could have wings!0
