Thanks for your support Bobarella. I am felling motivated at the moment. The fact that I have paid off £91 in 9 days is keeping me positive. Spending all my time reading other peoples diaries and the challenges on this board is also keeping me out of the shops and on the straight and narrow.

Last night I made an online purchase for a birthday present for a relative. It turns out the present was half price and I also tracked it through quidco at £1.25 so a win win. The present was budgeted for aswell so still no unplanned spends.

Not really sure what today will hold but I hope to keep it a no/low spend. It's dull and raining here at the moment so I'm secretly hoping for an indoors day.

That is great progress! Have you joined in on the Payment a Day challenge? I have been finding that a great motivation tool.

Bobarella - Thanks for the advice on the Payment A Day challenge. I will stop by there now and have a look. Do you have a diary?

    Hiya
No but I am normally always on the daily What Small things? thread on the main debt free wannabee board, & have my own thread on my wombling activities in 2015 on the challenge section of the board.

I did it. I made it into the £700s on credit card 2 making the balance now £793 :T It was clearly not much of a challenge and just goes to prove how much money I was wasting away. It really has got me motivated to clear these pesky credit cards and making savings here, there and everywhere seems to have turned into a game! Only wish I had done it sooner. I'm now thinking of ways I can get it down to £750 before next payday although I have penny pinched all my budgets so I'm not sure this will be possible. I'll have to get my thinking cap on. I've already sold everything worth selling and there isn't much of an option for overtime at work either. Any ideas what else I could do?

So you need £43 before when? To hit your stretch target? What about looking at how many nectar or Mr T points you have and using those to offset your grocery bill then freeing the money from there into your repayment budget?

    Or selling something on ebay

Checking through any old survey accounts to see if you've reached the payout limit

Signing up for a new current account to get a sign up bonus. Some of them will give you £50 for moving to them.

    Morning all,

Thanks Bob for your tips and advice about extra money making/ saving ideas. I hadn't thought of these and will be sure to take them in board

This morning I have managed to pay off another £10 :T I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am about this. After a quick inventory of animal bedding/ feed etc I have realised I have plenty in stock and only need one more bag of animal feed during this month and could therefore reduce my budgeted amount by another £10. Now the old me wouldn't have even gone to check how much was needed, I would have just gone and bought the usual monthly items from the shop. The old me was stoooppid :p

Thanks Bob for your tips and advice about extra money making/ saving ideas. I hadn't thought of these and will be sure to take them in board.

Today will be an NSD. Can't see that I will need to by anything or even go anywhere near a shop.

    Have a lovely day :)

Well done that's amazing you managed another £10. It is all about thinking isn't it. Planning ahead. Looking at every angle. No you've started I bet you'll find savings to make all over the place. :j

I seem to have neglected my diary a bit over the last few days. I haven't been far, I've just been reading the Not Buying It and Make Do, Mend and Minimise threads over on the OS boards. They are fascinating to read and I have collected so many tips and ideas.

This week has been fairly quiet on the financial front as I did all my main spending and saving straight after payday last week. Since I last did a diary update I have managed to pay another £20 off of credit card 2 and am pretty certain I can make it to the £750 balance remainder that I had hoped for by next payday (26th of the month).

I have already been looking forward to next month and how much it might be possible to pay off credit card 2. It seems a quiet month with no birthdays to pay out for but I really need to start to save monthly for christmas now. With this in mind I can definitely allocate £100 to the credit card payments on top of my other credit card minimum (£35) and my monthly loan amount (£141). When I add it all up that's another £276 that will be paid off in September :j

Today will not be an NSD as I need to buy more animal feed. I am hoping that by buying this from my weekly spending allowance and not from the animal budget then I will have another £10 to pay off the credit card. We are also out this evening which has been planned for months but will keep it as cheap as possible

    Have a lovely weekend :)

I just went to update my signature and realised that in July, since my LBM I have managed to pay £20 off credit card 1, £177 off credit card 2 and £141 off my loan. Total = £338 :T
