  • The finest scones that have passed my lips are from Costco, Cash & Carry.

They are large, 12 in a pack, freeze well, and cost £3.99.

    Scone in no time!

Morrisons clotted cream scones are sneaked into the basket by my dh every time we shop there.

The Morrison's "Best" scones are really nice.
    On offer until 26/07 @ 80p for 4.

You should never cut a scone! :D
  • Lidls scones are nice, small but they have a nice flavour. I think if your after a really special scone bursting with fruit etc then you are better off making your own.

You cannot beat a homemade scone, I use a tried and trusted be-ro recipe for 'rich scones' with or without the dried fruit! They freeze great!

I also use the Bero recipe to make for fruit scones and also makethem as cherry scones for a change as they are DS favourite

Just a thought do you know any free lance bakers in your circle of friends and family. Home made scones always look and taste much better than shop bought. The shop bought always look a bit anaemic to me with very little charactor.

Is there a nice cafe in the area that does scones? Could you buy a batch from them?
It might mean making lots of visits to various tea shops to compare and contrast. How terrible;)
