Close Credit Card Account Prior to Mortgage Application?

Hi
I will be applying for my first mortgage to buy a home later in the year. I currently have two credit cards, but only use one.
1. Capital One - limit £750 - 0.5% cash back - used for all daily spending, paid off in full every month via direct debit.
2. Barclaycard - limit £5,000 - never use, kept for emergencies if you will.
Now I am wondering if it is worth closing the unused barclaycard credit card prior to my mortgage application, will it help or hinder the application in anyway? I suspect some lenders may not want to see a large amount of available credit.
The mortgage I will be applying for will most likely be with Barclays (I bank with Halifax but Barclays have a more attractive mortgage deal for me, providing they approve the mortgage).
The only other 'credit' account I have is my car repayment, no other loans or cards etc.
Thanks,
Gareth

I have 4 unused cards with £35k limit in total. Did not hinder my application.0
