How can I stop calls from Barclaycard?

I'm looking for some advice please.
I was unable go meet the full payment this month on my Barclaycard

At the moment I seems to get calls on the hour especially when Im at work.I'm not the most confident at discussing these matters over the phone and would be likely to get talked into making payments I can't afford and would like any communication in writing only.
Do I have any rights in requesting this or any advice on what I could say to stop them calling?

Thank you
:j

Do not speak to them on the phone. Even if they ring every 10 minutes. Just ask for the persons name, tell them you are making a record of these harassing calls and that you will only deal with them by letter, then hang up. DO NOT get drawn into a conversation with them, under any circumstances.

There is a way to reduce the call, and a code by which they 'should' comply. I don't know the details exactly so i will leave that to others to explain.

Chin up it won't last forever.

Yes, you can either request they contact you in writing only, the next time they call, or, write to them and request this.

Once they update your file, the calls should stop, the best way to avoid this, is just to tell them when you can make payment.

I didn't pay my minimum payment last month as I couldn't afford it. I sent them an online message through online banking saying i couldn't afford the minimum but that I would pay them a small amount in a week. They messaged back thanking me for telling them and said they would put my account on hold for 30 days (so no more interest goes on and their collections team won't call me). After 30 days if I haven't caught up with my arrears they will contact me. Its as easy as that to get them off your back for a month at least!

This is the point I was trying to make, if you tell them when you can pay, then you won't have collections chasing you, it is that simple.
If you don't keep the creditor informed, then they will assume you are avoiding payment, that's when you get the hassle.

It can all be avoided with a simple message.
